
Light + Building 2026, the Frankfurt International Trade Fair for Lighting and Building Technology, grandly opened at Messe Frankfurt on March 8. The six-day fair focuses on cutting-edge solutions for energy-efficient buildings, intelligent interconnection, and modern lighting concepts.
This edition of the fair utilizes 16 exhibition halls with a total gross exhibition area of approximately 215,000 square meters, attracting nearly 2,000 companies from around the world. It maintains a high degree of internationalization, with 75% of the exhibitors being international enterprises.

Chinese Ingenuity • Humanistic Craftsmanship
The Chinese pavilion made a strong appearance at this year's exhibition. With about 450 exhibitors and a total exhibition area of nearly 11,000 square meters, China ranked second among all participating countries.
Chinese exhibitors are located in 9 halls: 3.0, 4.0, 4.1, 6.0, 8.0, 9.0, 10.1, 10.2 and 10.3, as well as the Outdoor Area,fully demonstrating the strength and style of China Intelligent Manufacturing.
Highlight 1: Steady Progress of China’s Strength in the International Pavilion
Light + Building has always favored exhibitors with independent brands. At this year's exhibition, more than 40 Chinese brands successfully participated in the International Pavilion, covering a total area of nearly 2,400 square meters, competing side by side with the world’s top international brands.
Notably, Aero became the first Chinese exhibitor to enter Hall 3.0, filling the long-standing vacancy of Chinese companies in this hall. This not only reflects the company's solid strength but also marks an upgraded penetration of Chinese lighting brands in the global high-end market.
Highlight 2: Branded Participation Becomes the Mainstream
Among the Chinese exhibitors at this year's event, the trend towards branded and professional participation has become increasingly prominent, with custom-built booths as the mainstream choice.
On the Light + Building platform, over 60% of China's exhibition area features personalized booth designs that enhance brand image and create immersive experiences. With a more professional appearance, Chinese enterprises are engaging in in-depth dialogue with global buyers.
Highlight 3: Deepening Layout in Building Technology
With the deepening of the themes of electrification and smart buildings, Chinese enterprises have significantly increased their participation in the building technology sector.
At this exhibition, both the number of Chinese exhibitors and their exhibition area in Hall 9.0 achieved a double growth of over 50% compared with the previous edition. The building zone in Hall 10.2 showcased a wealth of innovative achievements, providing the global market with more diversified solutions for smart buildings and energy management.

In response to the global carbon neutrality goal and industry trends, this edition features a dedicated Green Zone under the theme "Green + Sustainability". It focuses on sustainable and innovative solutions, showcasing advanced technologies and products including green materials, renewable energy applications, and intelligent energy-saving lighting control systems. This precisely meets the international market's strong demand for low-carbon and eco-friendly solutions.

Highlight 5: Joint Resource Linkage Across Halls, Showcasing the Overall Image of the Chinese Pavilion
To further enhance the overall international image of the Chinese Pavilion, a unified branding display has been set up in key areas of the exhibition halls during this event. From core circulation signage to visual coverage in key zones, it fully presents the spirit of Chinese craftsmanship.
This has not only effectively strengthened the overall recognition of the Chinese Pavilion,but also provided an intuitive window for global buyers to understand the professional strength and values of Chinese exhibitors.
